Meet Brad
BCW Plumbing and Heating is run by Bradley Webb, a plumbing and heating engineer based in Elkesley, just outside Retford.
Brad set the business up to do things a particular way: turn up when you say you will, explain what's wrong in plain English, and charge what you quoted. It sounds obvious. Anyone who has waited in all day for a plumber who never came knows it isn't.
The work runs from a dripping tap through to full bathroom refits, complete heating systems and air conditioning. Whatever the size, the engineer who quotes it is the one who does it, and the one who comes back if anything isn't right.
That is the whole idea. No call centre, no being passed between departments, and the same engineer on your job from the first visit to the last.

- Turn up when we say we will
- A time, not a window. If something overruns on the job before yours you will get a call, not silence. Waiting in all day for a plumber who never came is the thing people remember.
- Charge what we quoted
- A written, itemised price before anything starts. If the job changes once the floor is up you will hear about it then and decide, rather than finding it on the invoice.
- Explain it in plain English
- What is wrong, what it needs, and what happens if you leave it. No jargon, no scare tactics, and an honest answer when something can safely wait.
- Leave the place as we found it
- Dust sheets down, rubbish taken away, and the house liveable throughout. On a fortnight-long refit you are living with someone in your home, which matters more than most trades admit.
- Come back if it isn't right
- The person who quoted the job did the job, and it is the same number afterwards. Snags get put right rather than argued about.
