The survey matters more than the pump

A heat pump runs at a lower flow temperature than a boiler, so radiators sized for 70 degrees will not keep the house warm at 45. That is why a proper survey comes before any recommendation, and why some houses are told to insulate first.

It depends on insulation and radiator sizes more than on the house's age. A survey answers it properly, and if the answer is no, or not yet, you will be told that rather than sold one.

Often, in at least some rooms. A heat pump runs cooler than a boiler, so radiators need more surface area to give out the same heat. The survey works out which rooms need changing.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers a grant towards air source installation for eligible properties. Guidance on whether you qualify is part of the quote.

It depends on your electricity tariff and how well the system is designed. A badly designed heat pump can cost more than the boiler it replaced, which is the main reason design matters.
